Hello, my name is Ryan, and I am sharing inspirational quotes that apply to me as a writer. Although I have not yet published my recently finished novel, I have always found quotations from other writers to inspire me to push on and continue pursuing my passion -- writing itself. I feel these quotes show that everyone has faced hardship and that persistence is the key to success. They are listed here -- thank you.

'No poet or novelist wishes he was the only one who ever lived, but most of them wish they were the only one alive, and quite a number fondly believe their wish has been granted.' - Virginia Woolf

'It took me fifteen years to discover I had no talent for writing, but I couldn't give it up because by that time I was too famous.' -- Elizabeth Bishop

'War and Peace maddens me because I didn't write it myself, and worse, I couldn't.' - Ray Bradbury '

The art of translation lies less in knowing the other language than in knowing your own.' -- Henry Thoreau

'Writing is a dog's life, but the only one worth living.' - T.S. Eliot

'Nobody asks you to do this. The world out there is not panting after another novelist. We choose it.' - Thomas Wolfe

‘Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.’ - A.A. Milne

The story...must be a conflict, and specifically, a conflict between the forces of good and evil within a single person. - Maxwell Anderson

My task...is, by the power of the written word to make you hear, to make you feel - it is, before all, to make you see. That - and no more - and it is everything. - Joseph Conrad

The historian records, but the novelist creates. - E. M. Forster

If you haven't got an idea, start a story anyway. You can always throw it away, and maybe by the time you get to the fourth page you will have an idea, and you'll only have to throw away the first three pages. - William Campbell Gault

Words are the most powerful drug used by mankind. - Rudyard Kipling
